Paisley Distance Learning Program is accepting applications for a K-8 distance-learning teaching position.  This job consists of instructional-related services, including skill development, expanding standards-based knowledge, and developing the ability to reason.  Responsibilities include supervision, guidance, discipline, and student safety.  Independent judgment and decision-making are required in many matters where established rules, regulations, policies, or precedents do not exist.    

 

Primary Functions:

  1. Identify individual students' needs by continuous assessment of skills and abilities.
  2. Use identified student needs to plan instructional services.
  3. Prepare and write instructional plans
  4. Use a variety of curricula and virtual tools to implement instructional plans
  5. Organize and manage student activities
  6. Apply learning theories to meet the needs of students
  7. Evaluate and report student progress
  8. Initiate, plan, and carry out regular and required parent/student meetings via technology platforms and in person
  9. Initiate and maintain communication with parents and colleagues
  10. Conduct and present reports during staff trainings and meetings
  11. Present reports during staff trainings and meetings
  12. Answer daily emails and phone calls from the assigned students and parents/guardians
  13. Address student concerns and issues presented in meetings or other communication
  14. Reply to emails that show student learning plan/portfolio submission with feedback
  15. Score student work, Performance Tasks, and provide preparation for OSAS Assessments
  16. Maintain student files with completed work and assessment results
  17. Perform required assessments for all assigned students
  18. Refer students as needed to the Special Services Team and provide interventions using the Response to Intervention Plan
  19. Attend all staff meetings
  20. Attend required meetings with the supervisor
  21. Attend required meetings with the Special Education Director
  22. Host weekly synchronous virtual classes
  23. Manage course content in the student learning management system
  24. Maintain classroom/virtual communications with families
  25. Maintain daily reports for attendance
  26. Maintain contact logs
  27. Submit monthly documentation of mileage and appointments
  28. Facilitate and record grades for the report card process and credit tracking
  29. Other Functions as listed on the job description

 

The District offers a generous insurance package. PERS benefits are fully paid by the District.

Job Location:  Remote Office while residing in the Willamette Valley or the broader Portland area and broader travel as assigned.
